My Rusty Cat
The final word from our friend and vet... Rusty doesn't have diabetes. His blood tests were just fine, and so was the urine analysis. Everything is right where it should be in his little cat-body. As for Rusty's eating and drinking problem-- he just likes to eat, which makes him want to drink.
I'm thinking that maybe Rusty was just plain bored because it's been so cold here and he couldn't go out in the yard. So what's left for him to do? Eat.
Or maybe he just needed some extra attention. Being he's the oldest cat in the house, most of the attention here goes to AngelBoy and ShadowBaby. I just always think that Rusty is just fine being Rusty, without needing any extras. Even though he didn't like being closed up in the traveling crate yesterday and taken for a ride in the car, he surely didn't mind being the star of the show at the vet's office.
So we'll just keep taking him for his normal vet visits, but the good doctor has assured us that he's a very healthy cat. Just a tad over-weight, at 20 pounds. He's a Manx, which means he's going to be a sturdy cat anyway, and normal weight for him should be around 16-17 pounds. Maybe I should start walking Rusty around the block when I take Gracie for her walk. Now wouldn't that be a sight?!
