The Apprentice

We watched the final episode of The Apprentice last night, and I was happy to see that Donald Trump chose Randal as the latest edition to his organization. From the very beginning, Randal was the most qualified..... highly educated, organized and efficient, very well polished and put together, and just an all-around nice, nice, nice person.

I was surprised when The Donald asked Randal if he thought Rebecca should be hired as well. What? The Donald asking a new employee if someone else should be hired? Too much hair spray got to your brain, Mr. Trump? Good for Randal, saying that the entire concept of the last few months was to hire one apprentice, not many "apprenti." (Is that really a word, Randal?)

My husband thought that Randal should've taken Rebecca along with him to TrumpLand. I disagreed, suggesting that my husband wouldn't be thrilled to be sharing "first place" with another winner, had he worked as hard as Randal did these last few months to get to the top of The Donald's ladder.

Good for Randal, for getting to the top in a gentlemanly manner........ and tsk, tsk, Mr. Trump, for second-guessing your first choice for your new apprentice, and for putting Randal on the spot with such a ridiculous question just as he was rejoicing in his well-earned victory.
