Johnny Depp and His Pirates

We went to an early movie today, to see the latest Pirates of The Caribbean movie. We got to the theatre half an hour before the movie-time, but that first show was already sold out. (What? That early in the morning?) They were selling tickets for the next showing, starting just half an hour later, so we got in line for that one.

Last night at midnight, the same theatre was open for a special showing of Pirates. We asked the young man selling tickets if that show was sold out and he said there were just a few empty seats last night. I guess Jack Sparrow and his pirates are more popular here than we thought.

The movie was filled with special effects, but nothing that was too bloody or too gory. After all, it's a Disney film, so that's a guarantee that it won't be anything too, too awful. No one but Johnny Depp can pull off the slightly-lisping, slightly-swaying swagger of Jack Sparrow. Just watching him in that role makes you laugh. Of course, the ending of this movie sets you up for the next film in the series.

We had lunch at the local Thai restaurant afterwards.... and even after lunch was over, we still felt like we were on a "rush" after that movie. Glad to have seen it.... it was a nice break from packing, which I'm still doing. I swear, if my sitting room gets any more crowded with stuff, I won't be able to sit in here and type.

I took all the wicker furniture from the porch today and cleaned it up, making it Mayberry-ready, and now it's all in my sitting room. Instead of having vintage wicker chairs for their naps, our cats now have the outdoor furniture on the screen-porch. Just as comfy, with pretty green cushions, so they shouldn't miss the wicker all that much. Except for AngelBoy, who always knows when I rearrange things in and around this house. He has given the porch a once-over, gazing from end to end with those baby-blue eyes of his. I guess he approves... I haven't heard a meow of discontent. Yet.
